Digital Marketer

Drizzle is a growing, trending start-up company that makes honey products for the next generation of consumers!

We are looking for a scrappy, self-starter that can work independently, be creative and interpret data to help us gain and retain customers through digital marketing efforts. An eye on trends, a friendly sense of humour and a drive to promote our brand and help our business sell product is critical. Proficiency in graphics, web advertising and social media is a must. If you are keen on contributing to the successful national and international growth of our business, selling premium and sustainable health products and completing a variety of fast-paced, continuous projects then this is a great position for you!

Drizzle is part of District Ventures, a business accelerator for consumer packaged goods located in Calgary. Our office is located in the Venture Communications building on Kensington Rd. in an open concept co-working space. Remote work allowed. You will be working one-on-one with Aja Horsley (Drizzle’s owner), and our Operations and Supply Chain Lead. Supporting our Ads Management agency will be part of this role. We also have a large, outsourced team of photographers, graphic designers, our Accounting firm, Lawyers, Brand Management team, and our Distribution teams. We have an investment from District Ventures Capital (owner of our office space), led by Arlene Dickinson of the Dragon’s Den.

Skills in these areas would be assets:

  • Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Facebook social media management
  • Canva, Later and/or similar digital marketing platforms
  • Klaviyo email marketing (currently done in house; this may be outsourced, depending on the candidate)
  • Packaged good (CPG) industry experience, including sales, marketing, e-commerce, retail, sourcing, ordering
  • Ability to update portions of our Shopify website including navigation, promotional banners, product listings, etc. This is teachable but you will need to be proficient with technology and resourceful to solve roadblocks.
  • Ways to increasing sales on Shopify’s e-commerce platform, including app integration & Amazon.com and Amazon.ca
  • Experience in optimizing website, landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
  • Project management tools including Asana, Slack, etc.
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Microsoft Suite, including Excel
  • Website analytics tools for ad and campaign management (e.g. Google Analytics, Shopify analytics)
  • Experience bringing a brand nationally and into the USA

What types of things will you be working on?

  • Social media management and content generation for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest focused on targeting influencers, new retailers and funneling sales to our website. You’re comfortable recording yourself with a general update for our audience, or narrating an Instagram story.
  • Influencer and collaboration marketing, giveaways and takeovers. An existing national or USA network is a huge asset.
  • Assisting with expansion into the USA by engaging and internally lead tracking retailers via our social media channels. We are outwardly focused and do not want hyper-local focus.
  • Development of email marketing using our existing and future Klayvio flows and campaigns to boost product visibility, customer acquisition and sales. All product launch emails, sales, order emails, abandoned carts, etc
  • Design of ad creatives to support our Ads Management agency. They run the ads, you would help with creatives they request.
  • Design of layouts, graphics, labels, mock-ups for new and existing print material, blog posts, web and email marketing.
  • Take ownership of customer inquiries that come through social channels and provide support that aligns with our core values.
  • Photography, animations and editing for digital, marketing materials and website.
  • Shopify and Etsy ecommerce platform development and maintenance, to maximize sales conversions.
  • Assisting with Amazon platform design upkeep.
  • Analyzing metrics, identifying trends and optimizing performance.
  • Help at tasting demos and markets, during the week and weekend.
  • Communication with our contract photographers, printer and graphic designers.
  • Sampling honey, eating honeycomb, talking about bees and bouncing around ideas for new products!

Specifics:

Depending on the skill set of the candidate, this position is 25-32 hours per week. If your skill set is strong in Klaviyo, the hours could be at the higher end of the scale. Depending on the candidate, the position location and hours may be flexible. Remote work allowed.
